Life Coaching

Available Now | $120 per 60-minute session | First Session Free       Â
Â
Life Coaching is Shawn’s most comprehensive service currently available for independent booking. It is designed for individuals who are navigating meaningful life challenges, transitions, relationships, identity, disability, career decisions, grief and loss, or questions of purpose and personal growth.
Sessions may explore experiences related to stress, anxiety, low mood, trauma and difficult life experiences, grief and the loss of a loved one, marriage and relationship challenges, sexual orientation and self-acceptance, disability and adjustment, career development, major life transitions, chronic or life-limiting illness, end-of-life concerns, meaning, identity, and personal well-being.
Â
Shawn’s approach integrates psychology, counseling knowledge, Eastern and Western philosophy, mindfulness, and lived experience. Rather than simply providing advice, the process helps clients examine patterns of thinking and behavior, better understand their emotions and experiences, clarify what matters to them, recognize personal strengths, and develop practical ways to move forward.
Â
Life Coaching may address many of the same life concerns that people bring to counseling; however, Life Coaching is not psychotherapy or a substitute for licensed mental health treatment. Shawn does not provide clinical diagnoses, psychiatric or psychological evaluations, fitness-for-duty or other formal assessments, diagnostic or forensic reports, or other services requiring independent clinical licensure through Life Coaching. Life Coaching is self-pay and is not billed to health insurance.

Mental Health Counseling
Â
Clinical Service | Planned fee: $150 per 60-minute session
Â
Mental Health Counseling provides a clinical framework for working more deeply with emotional, psychological, behavioral, and relational concerns. Areas of focus may include depression, anxiety, trauma, grief and bereavement, relationship and marital concerns, identity and self-acceptance, sexual orientation, adjustment to major life changes, chronic illness, disability, existential concerns, and experiences surrounding serious or terminal illness and end-of-life issues.
Â
Shawn’s developing clinical approach integrates evidence-informed counseling theory and practice with mindfulness, psychological understanding, and philosophical exploration. The goal is not only symptom reduction, but also helping clients understand the experiences and patterns underlying their distress while developing greater awareness, coping capacity, resilience, and a more meaningful relationship with their lives.
Â
Shawn is currently a graduate counselor-in-training and does not yet provide independent clinical mental health counseling. At this stage, clinical counseling services can only be provided through an approved training or internship setting and under appropriate clinical supervision. They are not currently available for independent private booking through this website. Independent professional counseling appointments are anticipated to be available in May 2027, subject to completion of graduate training, applicable licensure requirements, supervision requirements, and authorization to practice.Â
Â
Rehabilitation Counseling
Â
Service | Planned fee: $150 per 60-minute session
Â
Rehabilitation Counseling focuses on the intersection of disability, health, psychological well-being, independence, relationships, education, employment, and participation in everyday life. It is particularly relevant for individuals and families adapting to disability, progressive or chronic health conditions, acquired disability, changes in physical functioning, serious illness, career disruption, or major changes in independence and identity.
Â
Services may address adjustment to disability, self-identity, disability-related grief and loss, family and relationship changes, social participation, self-advocacy, education, employment and career planning, workplace barriers and accommodations, rehabilitation goals, chronic illness, progressive conditions, terminal illness, and questions surrounding dignity, meaning, quality of life, and end-of-life experiences.
Â
Shawn brings together professional rehabilitation counseling training and lived experience with disability, allowing rehabilitation to be approached not simply as adaptation to a medical condition, but as a broader process involving autonomy, identity, opportunity, relationships, purpose, and quality of life.
As with Mental Health Counseling, Rehabilitation Counseling is currently provided only as part of Shawn’s supervised graduate clinical training through an approved institution or placement. It is not currently available as an independent private service. Independent appointments are anticipated beginning May 2027, contingent upon completion of the required education, clinical training, supervision, licensure, and other professional requirements.

Mental Health Counseling and Rehabilitation Counseling are currently training-stage services and are not available for independent private booking. The listed fee represents the anticipated private-service rate after Shawn becomes professionally eligible to provide these services independently. Availability, scope of practice, fees, insurance participation, and licensure status may change as professional credentials are completed.

Read. Reflect. Bring Your Questions.
Â
Reading Shawn’s work can be more than a reading experience—it can also become part of your journey of self-exploration. His books offer a deeper introduction to the ideas, perspectives, and questions that shape his approach to counseling and coaching, helping you better understand not only how Shawn thinks but also how you might begin viewing your own experiences differently.
Â
You are encouraged to read with your own life in mind. Notice what resonates with you, what challenges you, and what leaves you with questions. Bring those thoughts, disagreements, uncertainties, and personal reflections into your sessions. Instead of beginning every conversation from the surface, we can use them as a starting point to explore what lies underneath.
Â
The more you understand my perspective, and the more questions you bring, the deeper and more meaningful our conversation can become.
You do not need to agree with what I write. Sometimes, the most valuable conversation begins precisely where we disagree.
